Continuing with our Traditional Tales theme, Nursery have been reading the story of The Gingerbread Man. We had a fun time telling the story to each other and acting it out with our masks and props.
We made delicious gingerbread, watching with fascination as our ingredients turned to dough and then to a hard crunchy biscuit. The Nursery smelt divine and made us all feel rather hungry! 😋
It was very fitting that in the same week, we had cross country. Unfortunately, due to poor weather we used the hall instead of the field, but we definitely had fun trying to ‘run, run as fast as you can!’
Finally, we chose a few favourite characters from the story to draw and to try and write their name. We are getting very good now at hearing the first and last sounds in words and can use our phonic mats to help us find the right sound to write.
