Nursery have had a wonderful month, despite the storms trying their best! We have continued our Julia Donaldson topic, looking in depth at the books The Smartest Giant In Town, The Ugly Five and Tiddler.
In Maths, we are revisiting numbers 1 through to 5, focusing on Cardinality and Counting.
“The cardinal value of a number refers to the quantity of things it represents, e.g. the numerosity, ‘howmanyness’, or ‘threeness’ of three. When children understand the cardinality of numbers, they know what the numbers mean in terms of knowing how many things they refer to.” www.ncetm.org.uk
We have also investigated floating and sinking, colour mixing making gloop and learnt about Shrove Tuesday, tasting delicious pancakes!
