Last week was our first No Pen Day of the school year. In Year 2 we focussed on the yellow and black thinking hats and thought about the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches to tasks throughout the day. In groups the children designed and created their own castles and presented them to the class. We also completed a DEAR (drop everything and read) activity, some tricky ‘Thunks’ to get us thinking and we got ‘stuck in a pit’ completing a team challenge and learnt about resilience and perseverance. To top it off we did it all in our PJs to raise money for Alder Hey!
