Key Information
Our school is situated in Southport, Merseyside in the local authority of Sefton.
Kew Woods Primary School is a one and a half form entry school for pupils aged 3-11. We serve the Kew estate and surrounding areas but in practice many of our pupils travel some distance to get to our school.
The school is set in magnificent grounds which we continually develop for outdoor learning and play.
Our mission is to challenge each child to reach their full intellectual, creative and physical potential through stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences whilst becoming a responsible and compassionate citizen in a secure, caring and happy environment enhanced by a strong partnership between home and school.
The five key outcomes of ‘Every Child Matters’ is at the heart of our work. This is reflected in our values statement, leadership structure and in everything we do. We really believe that every child matters.
Visitors to Kew Woods invariably comment on how impressed they are with our pupils who are confident, articulate and independent. We nurture our pupil's self-esteem - for we believe when children feel good about themselves they can reach their highest level of personal success. The key to success is by both congratulating and rewarding pupils for their attainments and by giving positive feedback on how they can improve further. Our 'Celebration Assemblies' and ‘End of Year Award Ceremony’ play an important role in reinforcing our school's vision and values.
